Uganda Musician's Union (UMU) established in 1998, is a national umbrella organization bringing together performing musicians and promotes issues of social protection, equity, human rights, copyright management, decent working conditions and employment for the unemployed and upcoming performing musicians in Uganda.Performing musicians are often marginalized or excluded from the benefits of social protection and are vulnerable to exploitation and income shocks thus the establishment of a union for collective bargaining as a united voice.
